Creative therapies for children & teens : Healing through creativity and the power of play
Provides a safe outlet for difficult emotions like anxiety, grief, anger, or confusion, without requiring children to "put it into words"
Builds emotional vocabulary and self-awareness, helping children recognise and name what they're feeling
Strengthens coping skills and emotional regulation, giving young people tools they carry with them for life
Supports children navigating change, trauma, family difficulties, school challenges, or social struggles
Encourages self-esteem and confidence through creative achievement and a consistent therapeutic relationship
Helps teenagers explore identity and process complex feelings in a way that respects their growing need for autonomy
Children and teenagers don't always have the words to describe what they're feeling, and they don't need to. Through art and play, young people can safely explore, express, and make sense of their inner world in a way that feels natural to them. My practice offers a warm, non-judgemental space where creativity becomes the language of healing.
Art therapy
Using drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture as therapeutic tools. Children externalise their feelings through creative work, making the invisible visible and easier to work through together.
Play therapy
Play is a child's natural medium for communication. Through sandtray, puppets, role-play, and storytelling, children process experiences, develop emotional skills, and build resilience at their own pace.
Who I work with
I offer individual therapy for children and young people aged 4 to 18. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, low mood, behavioural changes, bereavement, family transitions, or social difficulties. you don't need a formal diagnosis to reach out. If something feels hard, that's enough of a reason to seek support.
Sessions are offered in blocks of 12 sessions held weekly. Through these 40 min sessions, your child gains access to a creative 'tool box' to encourage freedom of expression. Play serves as a crucial means for children to process their experiences and emotions without the constraints of vocabulary and cognitive processing. We utilize art materials, clay, role play, sand tray, small world figures, music, games, and directed creative visualizations or therapeutic storytelling to address their emotional needs effectively.
Every child's therapeutic journey is unique. I work at their pace, following their lead: because when children feel safe, heard, and understood, real change becomes possible.
