Children’s Workshops

“Art does not reproduce the visible; rather, it makes visible.” Paul Klee

‘The Art Trolley Creative Workshops’ run an exciting programme of original workshops designed to nourish children's imagination and creativity through meaningful, inventive activities.  Weekly sessions will be based on different projects, processes and themes. Children will experiment and play with a range of materials and processes. They will be encouraged to explore their own ideas, as well as look at great artists from Art History and  contemporary Artists and practices and use these as a base for exploration in their own artworks. Children will  experience processes such as drawing, painting, mix-media,  collage, sculpture, ceramics,  print-making and much more. Children will gain the confidence to express their thoughts through their creations and be empowered to create and innovate using diverse inspirations and their own experience.

Our recent Projects at Slade Primary School

Our online book is now finished! : An incomplete book - A conversation between two Primary Schools in two twin towns.

“An incomplete book”, was a bit of an experiment, it is a book that was co-created at two Primary schools from two twins towns, in two different countries, England and Germany.  We started this project back in July 2015, it took us a while to complete it but we did it! We worked collaboratively with our friends at Matthias-Claudius-Schule, in Heusenstamm, Germany, to create this book and learn more about one another.

We have called it “An Incomplete Book” as  the first pages were created at Slade primary school, in England, and were then sent to Germany, where it was completed by children at Matthias-Claudius-Schule. Children at The Art Club used mono-printing, collage and text, to tell their stories about Tonbridge and Slade Primary School.

There were 11 initial pages created by 12 children. Each page was answered by a child at Matthias-Claudius-Schule . Enjoy it! -
